On that tragic afternoon at approximately 12:35 p.m., emergency responders were called to the area of Dwight Street near Bergen Avenue following reports of a stabbing. Kareem was found suffering from multiple serious injuries and was rushed to Jersey City Medical Center. Despite the determined and compassionate efforts of medical personnel, he was pronounced deceased shortly after 1:10 p.m. The suddenness of his passing has left a deep void in the hearts of his family, friends, and community.
