In Loving Memory of Joshua Ehr

The Waterloo community is grieving the heartbreaking loss of 32-year-old Joshua Ehr, whose life was tragically taken on Wednesday night following a devastating hit-and-run along San Marnan Access Drive. What began as an ordinary evening quickly turned into an unimaginable tragedy, leaving family, friends, and neighbors in deep sorrow and disbelief.

According to authorities, officers with the Waterloo Police Department responded to the 1000 block of San Marnan Access Drive at approximately 9:22 p.m. after receiving reports of a pedestrian-involved crash. A caller had reported seeing a man lying unresponsive in the roadway. When first responders arrived, Joshua was found with critical injuries.

Firefighters and paramedics with the Waterloo Fire Department immediately rendered aid, working urgently to stabilize him before transporting him to MercyOne Hospital. Despite the tireless efforts of emergency responders and medical staff, Joshua later succumbed to his injuries.

Joshua’s passing is a profound loss that extends far beyond the circumstances of that tragic night. He was more than a victim of a senseless حادث—he was a son, a friend, a loved one, and a presence in the lives of many who now struggle to come to terms with his absence. Those who knew him will remember his spirit, his kindness, and the impact he made in both quiet and meaningful ways.

In the wake of this tragedy, the pain is compounded by unanswered questions and the search for justice. Yet even amid grief, there is a collective determination to honor Joshua’s life—not for how it ended, but for how he lived. His memory will endure in the stories shared, the love he gave, and the lives he touched.

As the Waterloo community comes together to mourn, may there also be strength in unity, comfort in shared memories, and hope that justice will be served. May Joshua Ehr be remembered with love, and may he rest in eternal peace.
