Authorities in Merrimack, New Hampshire said Mr. Carter was last seen walking out of his home on Carter Street around midnight. When his family noticed he was missing the following morning, they immediately contacted police, prompting a coordinated search effort.
Crews from the Merrimack Police Department and the New Hampshire Fish and Game Department searched the area surrounding his home from approximately 7 a.m. to 11 a.m. Investigators also used doorbell camera footage from his residence and neighboring homes to help track portions of his movements overnight.
Despite the extensive search efforts, Jon Carter was later found in Baboosic Lake. His passing has left his family, friends, and community heartbroken, as they come to terms with the sudden and unexpected loss of a beloved elder.
