In Loving Memory — A Life Lost Too Soon
On April 30, 2026, at approximately 1:55 PM, a tragic motor vehicle accident changed lives forever. What began as an ordinary day ended in heartbreak along South Cooksbridge Road near Westlake Boulevard, where a single vehicle left the roadway and came to rest against a tree.
The driver, Ronald Miller, a dedicated Jackson Township Building Inspector, was on duty at the time. He was the sole occupant of the vehicle. Despite immediate life-saving efforts at the scene and continued care after being transported to the hospital, he sadly did not survive.
I was there.
I was behind him when it happened. Along with others, I helped pull him from the vehicle. I performed CPR until EMS arrived. I did everything I could in those moments—hoping, pushing, refusing to give up.
But sometimes, even our best isn’t enough.
This has stayed with me. It’s heavy. It’s hard to process. But as much as it has shaken me, I know the pain I carry is only a fraction of what his family, friends, and loved ones are now enduring. They lost someone irreplaceable. A man who mattered. A man who was working, living, and simply going about his day—just like any of us.
Life is fragile in ways we often forget.
We rush. We stress. We assume there will always be more time.
More time to call.
More time to say “I love you.”
More time to forgive.
More time to show up.
But moments like this remind us—there are no guarantees.
So please, hold your people a little closer tonight.
Say the things you’ve been putting off.
Be patient. Be kind. Give grace freely—to others and to yourself.
Because in an instant, everything can change.
Rest in peace, Ronald Miller.
You were not alone in your final moments.
And you will not be forgotten. 🤍
