In Loving Memory — A Tragic Loss on the Road
A devastating accident on April 30, 2026, has left a family grieving and a community in mourning.
At approximately 10:15 a.m., a two-vehicle crash along U.S. 43 near Killen, Alabama, claimed the life of Teresa D. Bretherick, a 61-year-old woman from Saint Joseph, Tennessee. What should have been another ordinary morning turned into a moment that would forever change the lives of so many.
Teresa was driving her Jeep Wrangler when it was struck by another vehicle. The impact was severe. She was critically injured, ejected from the vehicle, and airlifted to Huntsville Hospital where medical teams fought to save her life. Despite those efforts, she sadly succumbed to her injuries.
Others were hurt in this crash as well—young lives and another passenger now facing recovery and healing from a traumatic event that will not easily be forgotten.
This is more than just a report.
It’s a reminder.
A reality check none of us ever want to face.
In an instant, everything can change.
No one wakes up expecting it to be their last day. No family prepares for a phone call like this. No goodbye feels complete enough when it comes too soon.
Please—wear your seatbelt.
Please—drive with care and awareness.
Please—value every moment you are given.
And beyond the road…
Hold your loved ones close.
Check in on your people.
Say the words that matter.
Because time is not promised.
My heart goes out to Teresa’s family, friends, and everyone affected by this tragedy. May her memory live on in the lives she touched, and may those injured find strength and healing in the days ahead.
Rest in peace, Teresa D. Bretherick. 🤍
Gone far too soon, never forgotten.
