In Loving Memory of Tywon Monice and Bobb Marlyy
A wave of sorrow has swept through Chicago’s Englewood community following a devastating act of gun violence that claimed the lives of two young men, Tywon Monice, 31, and Bobb Marlyy, 30. Their lives were tragically cut short in the early hours of the morning, leaving behind grieving families, friends, and a neighborhood shaken by loss.
The shooting occurred around 12:49 a.m. near 65th Street and Hermitage Avenue, where what should have been a quiet gathering turned into a scene of chaos and heartbreak. According to authorities, three individuals were standing outside a residence when a white SUV approached. Without warning, an unidentified suspect opened fire before fleeing the scene, leaving devastation in their wake.
Tywon Monice suffered a fatal gunshot wound to the chest, while Bobb Marlyy was struck in the head. Both men were rushed to a nearby hospital, where medical personnel fought to save their lives. Despite every effort, they succumbed to their injuries.
A 26-year-old woman was also caught in the violence, sustaining multiple gunshot wounds. She remains in critical condition as doctors continue working tirelessly to stabilize her.
Tywon and Bobb will be remembered not for the violence that took them, but for the lives they lived, the love they gave, and the impact they had on those around them. Their absence leaves an unfillable void, and their memories will forever be cherished by those who knew and loved them.
