The Horn Lake community is mourning the heartbreaking and untimely loss of Kejuan Williams, whose life was tragically cut short in a fatal shooting late Friday night. According to the Horn Lake Police Department, officers were dispatched to a residence on Chickasaw Cove at approximately 11:15 p.m. on June 13, 2026, following reports of a male who had been shot. Upon arriving at the scene, officers discovered Kejuan suffering from a gunshot wound to the head. Despite emergency efforts, he was pronounced deceased at the scene.

Investigators immediately began working to determine the circumstances surrounding the tragedy and were able to identify 19-year-old Elijah Avent of Horn Lake as the suspected shooter. Authorities stated that Avent allegedly fled the scene following the shooting but was later located and taken into custody. He has since been charged with one count of murder and is currently being held at the DeSoto County Jail without bond as the investigation continues.
