At approximately 4 p.m., along Whiskey Road near Ping Way, a head-on collision occurred involving a 2024 Kia Sorento SUV and a 2006 Ford F-150 pickup truck. According to investigators with the South Carolina Highway Patrol, the pickup truck attempted to turn into a private driveway, crossing into the path of the oncoming SUV. The impact was catastrophic, leaving both vehicles severely damaged and forever altering the lives connected to them.
Carla, who was driving the Kia SUV, sustained fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene. The suddenness of her passing has sent shockwaves through the community, leaving many struggling to come to terms with the loss of a woman described by those who knew her as kind, vibrant, and full of life.
