Missing Person Alert: Help Locate Joe Nathan Sumpter

SUMTER, South Carolina — The Sumter community is being asked to assist in locating 76-year-old Joe Nathan Sumpter, who has been reported missing.

According to the Sumter Police Department, Sumpter was last seen around 8:30 p.m. Tuesday at his home in the Breezy Bay area. He is described as standing approximately 5 feet 11 inches tall and weighing around 195 pounds.

At the time he was last seen, Sumpter was wearing an Army jacket and gray sweatpants. Family members and authorities believe he may have walked away from his residence and could be in need of medical care.

Police are urging anyone who may have seen Joe Nathan Sumpter or has information about his whereabouts to come forward immediately.
