At just 32 years old, Ryan’s journey was one marked by purpose, passion, and an unwavering commitment to others.

Ryan tragically lost his life following a crash in Edina, Minnesota. According to the Minnesota State Patrol, he was traveling northbound on Highway 169 near Highway 62 when his vehicle suddenly swerved and collided with a cement median barrier. Despite the efforts of first responders and medical professionals, he was later pronounced dead at the hospital. The news of his passing has sent shockwaves through his family, friends, colleagues, students, and the broader community.

Ryan was far more than a teacher—he was a mentor, a role model, and a source of daily inspiration. Since joining Shakopee Public Schools in 2021, he poured his heart into his work as a health and physical education teacher at the Academies of Shakopee. He believed deeply in the potential of every student who walked into his classroom, encouraging them not only to grow physically, but to build confidence, resilience, and character.

Students remember Ryan as someone who made learning engaging and meaningful. He had a gift for connecting with young people, meeting them where they were, and motivating them to push beyond their limits.
